The electronic flasher device shall operate satisfactorily either from primary or secondary cells or unsmooth full-wave rectifier supply (true RMS) from single phase,50 Hz sinusoidal AC supply. The rated current, voltage and ambient temperature shall be as follows:-

• Input voltage : 24V, +30%, -10%
• Output voltage : 24V±20%
• Output Current : 3Amps.
• Flash rate : 50±2 flashes per minutes.
• Duty cycle : 'ON' time for the flashing output shall be 44% to 46% of the duty cycle.
• Operating temperature : -10°C to 70°C & 95% RH

The design of the circuit is of fail safe nature so that no steady output is delivered in case of failure or open circuit/short circuit or ageing of any component or any momentary switching OFF/ON of the power supply or external surges due to picking up and dropping of relays connected across the supply to the flasher device.
